WrestleMania 42 is just around the corner, and the buzz is getting louder every week as WWE lays out the card for what looks like another epic two-night show.

Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas is expected to host the event, and both RAW and SmackDown have started to reveal the direction things are heading. Not every match has been made official yet, but the latest storylines and some pretty solid backstage news give us a strong idea of what’s coming.

As always, WrestleMania marks the payoff for months of storylines, and this year’s is no exception. You’ve got big championship feuds, old grudges flaring up, and new stars stepping into the spotlight. If it goes the way things are trending, it should be a solid mix of star power and drama, just what you want from the “Showcase of the Immortals.”

Following the hottest TV stories and backstage reporting, here’s what the card looks like it's shaping up to be.

World title matches take centre stage

The Undisputed WWE Championship will headline one night, with Cody Rhodes set to defend against Randy Orton. These two have a history, and lately, Orton’s experience and mean streak have seriously tested Cody. This isn’t just about a title; it’s about legacy, payback, and two careers on the line. It feels like a main event.

The other huge match? CM Punk vs. Roman Reigns for the World Heavyweight Championship. People can’t stop talking about this one. Punk brings a rebel attitude, while Reigns just dominates everyone in front of him. Their war of words alone could sell out the stadium. WWE hasn’t made it official, but if this match happens, it might end up being one of those classic WrestleMania showdowns everyone remembers.

Women’s division ready to make headlines

Don’t sleep on the women’s matches this year. Rhea Ripley’s likely to defend her Women’s World Title against Bianca Belair in a showdown between two of WWE’s best. Ripley hits hard, Belair moves like lightning, and when they collide, it’ll be fireworks.

There’s also a strong chance we see IYO SKY put her WWE Women’s Championship on the line against Bayley. The tension inside Damage CTRL has made this feud feel personal. WrestleMania is famous for shocking faction breakups, and this match could deliver another.

Midcard titles and rising stars get their shot

It’s not all about the main events. Expect the Intercontinental Championship to get a spotlight with GUNTHER defending, maybe against Sami Zayn or Chad Gable. GUNTHER has made every big-stage title match count, and he’ll do it again.

The United States Title should get some shine, too. LA Knight is building a lot of momentum, and a match against Logan Paul, who always grabs headlines, feels almost inevitable. That’s the kind of mix of showmanship and in-ring action that fills seats.

Tag teams and show-stealers

The tag team division is looking hot, with The Judgment Day possibly defending their belts against DIY or The New Day. WWE knows how to turn tag matches into all-out spectacles, and this one could get wild if multiple teams get involved.

Spectacle matches and grudge wars

No WrestleMania is complete without some over-the-top attraction matches. Brock Lesnar often delivers those big “can’t-miss” moments, and a clash with Bron Breakker would feel like a passing of the torch. That kind of generational battle fits right into WrestleMania tradition.

Personal feuds are heating up, too. Seth Rollins and Drew McIntyre have been butting heads on TV, and if they fight, expect something hard-hitting and emotional. Rey Mysterio might also end up in a story about family or mentorship; he has a way of giving WrestleMania that extra bit of heart.

Celebrities and surprises

Of course, it’s not WrestleMania without some jaw-dropping surprises and celebrity involvement. Logan Paul’s star power almost guarantees more mainstream buzz, and there’s still talk that The Rock could show up. You never know who’s going to walk through the curtain, which is half the fun.

All told, WrestleMania 42 looks ready to deliver, packed with big matches, major moments, and the kind of electricity you only get once a year.

WrestleMania 42 is almost here, and you can feel the buzz backstage. Every WWE superstar wants to be at their best. This isn’t just another event. It’s the dream stage for anyone who ever laced up their boots and hoped to be a champion someday.

WrestleMania is where legends are made, and nobody wants to let the fans down, not even the WWE execs. They’re pulling out all the stops to make this weekend legendary.

Las Vegas gets to host the big show again, just like last year. The crowd’s expectations? Through the roof.

Liv Morgan is probably the most talked-about name this year. She’s gearing up for a massive showdown against Stephanie Vaquer for the women’s world title, and she makes it clear she’s not letting this shot slip away.

In a deep interview with Esteban Ramirez, Liv opened up about how much WrestleMania 42 means to her. She’s been chasing this moment from day one.

She said, “Yeah, I’m super proud. It’s my first year kind of headlining WrestleMania, where I have a guaranteed spot and a singles match for the Women’s World Championship. It’s huge. And I feel like I’ve spent the last 11 years of my career preparing for this very moment, and I want to deliver, and I know I’m going to deliver, and it means everything to me.”

Against all odds, Liv has really embraced being a heel. Don’t expect her to switch back to the good side anytime soon. She admits, “I like being a bad girl. I feel like you knew that. I like being a bad girl. It’s just so fun and easy and freeing. You know, when you are a good guy, it’s like you’re valiant, and the people have to like you. They have to respect you. They have to want to root for you. And sometimes that can be very difficult, and that can be hard.”

Liv’s ready for the spotlight, and she’s not shy about it. WrestleMania 42 just got a whole lot more interesting.

THE HOST REVEAL: JOHN CENA OFFICIALLY CONFIRMED AS THE TWO-NIGHT HOST FOR WRESTLEMANIA 42

John Cena officially returns to WWE as the host of WrestleMania 42 in Las Vegas after "cracking the code" on his future.

John Cena ends retirement hiatus to host WrestleMania 42 in Las Vegas

John Cena wrapped up his legendary WWE career in December, stepping out of the ring after losing to Gunther in what was supposed to be his last match. He left his sweatbands and sneakers behind – a classic Cena goodbye – and walked away after 22 years, riding off into the sunset.

But that break didn’t last long. On Monday, Cena surprised everyone with a video on his X account, announcing he’s heading to WrestleMania 42 in Las Vegas. He’s been busy filming for Netflix lately, but he pointed out that his shoot location isn’t far from Sin City, so he’s jumping right back in with WWE. This time, not as a wrestler, but as the official host for the two-night event.

In his post, Cena joked that ever since retirement, his road has looked a little different, but now he’s officially headed to WrestleMania. “The rumour around this town is WrestleMania needs a host. Well, I’m already on that road, so I will see you at WrestleMania.”

WWE took to social media too, hyping up the announcement: “Las Vegas, are you ready?! The GOAT @JohnCena will be the host of WrestleMania 42. See you there!”

Let’s not forget, Cena headlined last year’s WrestleMania, beating Cody Rhodes to snag a record-breaking 17th world title. He dropped the belt back to Rhodes at SummerSlam, grabbed the Intercontinental title from Dominik Mysterio, and finally became a Grand Slam champion – more proof, if anyone still needed it, of his place among the greats.

Even though Cena is officially out of in-ring action, he’s hung up the jorts for good; he’s not distancing himself from WWE. At MegaCon Orlando 2026, he talked about working hard to figure out his next chapter with the company. He hinted that he might’ve “cracked the code” to his new role. If everything lines up, Cena says he’ll be much more involved and integrated into WWE’s system moving forward. He’s excited about what’s next, and, honestly, fans probably are too because when Cena’s around, things just feel bigger.

The event card is really coming together, and here's what we've got so far early Monday morning:

Cody Rhodes takes on Randy Orton for the WWE Undisputed Championship. CM Punk will defend his title against Roman Reigns for the World Heavyweight Championship. Jade Cargill faces Rhea Ripley for the WWE Women’s Championship. Stephanie Vaquer squares off with Liv Morgan for the Women’s World Heavyweight Championship. AJ Lee battles Becky Lynch for the Women’s Intercontinental Championship. Sami Zayn goes up against Trick Williams for the United States Championship. There's a wild, unsanctioned match with Drew McIntyre and Jacob Fatu. Then Oba Femi will meet Brock Lesnar in the ring.

There are still more matches to be revealed, but the buzz just got even louder with some big news about WWE legend John Cena.
